It can only be applied for separately through the local trademark registration institution (Macao Economic Bureau) in Macao.

3. Review Form

The examination forms of Macao trademarks are divided into formal examination and substantive examination. Formal examination refers to the examination of the legality of the application documents submitted by the applicant. If the requirements are met, the Macao Economic Affairs Bureau will grant the application date and application number. If there is no objection during the announcement period, it will enter the substantive examination stage, which refers to the examination of whether the trademark is registrable, whether it is the same or similar to the previously registered trademark, and whether it violates the prohibition clause of the trademark law in accordance with local law. For trademark applications that have not passed the examination, the Macao Economic Affairs Bureau will inform the applicant of the reasons for rejection in writing. After receiving the examination opinion, the applicant shall amend and correct the trademark application documents within the time limit and submit the trademark review, otherwise it will be regarded as giving up the trademark application.

is valid for 7 years from the date of registration (the Macao trademark can be renewed within 6 months before the expiration of the trademark, the extension period is 6 months, and the renewal period is 7).
