OPI (Luxembourg Intellectual Property Office) conducts only formal examination of invention patent applications. The applicant must submit a search request within 18 months from the date of application, or submit a search report issued by any official search agency within 18 months from the date of priority, and the judgment of the search report on the new innovation does not affect the application of the Luxembourg patent.
