INPI (Argentine Industrial Property Office) conducts formal and substantive examination of utility model patent applications. The filing date of a patent is the time when the patent applicant sends the complete patent application text to INPI. INPI accepts only one independent claim for utility model applications. The applicant shall pay the actual examination fee within 3 months from the date of application. The reply period for the notice of review opinions is 3 months from the date of publication and may be extended 3 times (1 month each time).
