Cyprus accepts applications in multiple categories. A registrable trademark includes a distinctive mark or name for a product, service, business, or trade name.

For trademarks that do not pass the substantive examination, the examiner will notify the applicant in writing and inform the reasons for rejection. The applicant may submit a review within the time limit from the date of receiving the notice of rejection, otherwise, the application will be deemed to have been abandoned, and the application date and application number will not be retained. After the trademark has passed the examination, the applicant will be informed that the trademark application has been accepted and published in the trademark notice. Any person can raise an objection within the 2-month announcement period, state the reasons and submit relevant evidence.
