The latest trademark law in Kuwait is Law No. 13 of 2015 "Ratification of the Law (System) of Commercial Trademarks in the States of the Cooperation Council of the Gulf States of Arabia", which was published in the Official Gazette (No. 1228) on March 22, 2015. Kuwait applies the principle of prior application and adopts the tenth edition of the Nice classification. Kuwait does not have an accelerated examination channel and does not allow multi-category applications for one standard, and separate trademark applications must be submitted for each category.
