Upon receipt of the patent application, OSIM will issue a search report with a written opinion on patentability within 6 months, which will be made public at the same time as the patent application. The applicant shall submit a request for substantive examination within 30 months from the date of application at the latest, and may submit an urgent request for substantive examination within 18 months from the date of application. After the substantive examination of the patent application, OSIM makes a decision to grant or reject the patent application and notifies the applicant within one month, after which the decision will be published after the one-month appeal period.
