2. Review Form

submits the application, the application will be subject to formal examination. After the formal examination is passed, a temporary patent authorization decision will be issued. The validity period of the temporary patent is 5 years, and this period can be extended for 3 years. The request for substantive examination may be submitted from the date of publication of the provisional decision on the grant of a patent and within three years from the date of application. If the patent application meets the requirements of protectability, the patent right is granted. The average period for obtaining a patent in Kazakhstan is about 2-5 years.

PCT application into the national phase of Kazakhstan should be filed within 31 months from the date of international filing or priority (if any).

2. Name and address of the inventor;

3. Full set of application documents: including claims, specifications, abstracts and drawings;

4. If priority is claimed, a certified copy of the priority document (priority claims may be made within 2 months of the filing date and documents may be filed within 6 months);

5. The signed power of attorney must indicate the name and position of the signatory (which can be submitted within 2 months from the date of submission), and does not require certification and notarization.
